Ceramic Coatings

Ceramic Coatings in South Florida.

Long-life marine ceramic coatings engineered for sun, salt and exhaust.

Marine-grade nano ceramic and carbon-guard coatings applied over corrected paint, gelcoat, metal and glass. UV, salt, exhaust soot and black streaks bead off — washes are faster and finishes stay glossy longer.

Typical timeline
Correction plus coating typically 3–7 days depending on length.
Pricing
Quoted per linear foot with coating tier options.

About our ceramic coatings service

A marine ceramic coating is a semi-permanent layer of silica or quartz-based chemistry that bonds to your gelcoat or paint at a molecular level. Once cured, it forms a hard, hydrophobic, UV-stable shell that fights salt, exhaust soot, dock dust, bird etching and the chalky oxidation that defines South Florida boating.

We apply tier-1 marine coatings only: IGL Kenzo Marine, Gtechniq Marine and Glidecoat Pro lines. Each coating is matched to the surface — paint vs gelcoat vs metal vs glass — and applied only after the underlying surface is corrected and panel-wiped clean. Coating over defects locks those defects in for the life of the product, which is why we will never skip the correction step.

Coatings are typically rated 2 to 5 years on properly maintained vessels. They dramatically reduce time and water needed for weekly washes, hold gloss far longer than wax, and protect the resale value of the yacht.

Our ceramic coatings process

  1. 1
    Prep correction
Every coating job starts with a paint or gelcoat correction. Coating over defects locks them in for the life of the product.
  2. 2
    Panel wipe
IPA wipe to strip oils, then a controlled clean-room style application area covered or shaded against fallout.
  3. 3
    Application
Cross-hatch application in small sections, levelled at the correct flash time. Multiple layers for top-tier packages.
  4. 4
    Cure
Coating cures dockside under controlled conditions, typically 24–48 hours dry, with a longer chemical cure that finishes over 2 weeks.
  5. 5
    Aftercare handoff
Owner and captain receive a written aftercare plan: approved soaps, wash cadence, and the annual booster schedule that keeps the warranty alive.

Frequently asked about ceramic coatings

How long do ceramic coatings last on a yacht?+

On corrected paint with regular maintenance washes, a properly applied marine ceramic coating typically lasts 2–5 years depending on exposure and product tier.

Do I still need to wash my boat with a ceramic coating?+

Yes — coatings reduce how dirty your boat gets and make washing dramatically faster, but salt and pollen still need to come off. Most coated boats only need a freshwater rinse and quick wipe between full washes.

Will ceramic coating cover dock rash and scratches?+

No. A ceramic coating is an extremely thin protective layer — it cannot fill or hide defects. That's why our coating packages always include the appropriate correction first.

What happens if I skip the annual booster?+

The coating still protects, but the hydrophobic 'beading' behavior gradually weakens. A short maintenance booster every 12 months keeps it performing at full spec and preserves the warranty.
