The first true Marine Protection Film on the market.

See how Yacht Armor combines self-healing film, UV defense and marine nanotech into a single protective layer engineered specifically for boats.

Why Yacht Armor

Five layers of defense in one film.

Yacht Armor MPF was built from the ground up for marine use. Every feature is engineered against the specific failure modes that wear down a yacht's finish in South Florida.

UV-Resistant Protection

Constant South Florida sun is the #1 enemy of gelcoat and paint. Yacht Armor MPF blocks the UV that causes fading, chalking and oxidation on hull sides, motors and other high-exposure surfaces — keeping the most visible parts of your vessel looking vibrant for years.

Marine Nanotech

Engineered at a molecular level specifically for marine use, Yacht Armor's Marine Protection Film builds a denser, more durable barrier than traditional ceramic coatings. Film thickness is tailored to the area of the boat being protected — heavier where impact and wear are highest.

Self-Healing Film

Surface-level scratches and dock rash on Yacht Armor literally heal themselves with heat. Most minor marks vanish on their own — no buffing, no compounding, no expensive panel repairs to keep your boat looking right.

Reduced Maintenance

Most exterior protection products need a full re-application every 12–18 months. Yacht Armor MPF is built for 3+ years of service, dramatically reducing yard time and the long-term cost of keeping your finish protected.

Enhanced Appearance

Low-profile and optically clear, Yacht Armor adds a layer of true physical protection without changing the look of the finish underneath. The result is a deeper, glossier presentation that stays sharp on the water.

The install

How Yacht Armor is professionally installed.

As a Yacht Armor Certified Installer, AC Detailing follows the manufacturer's documented installation process at every step — the same process that keeps the warranty intact and the film performing as designed.

  1. 1
    On-board assessment
We walk the vessel with you, identify the high-wear and high-exposure areas, and recommend which surfaces are best protected by film versus coating.
  2. 2
    Surface preparation
Decontamination wash, clay-bar work and (where required) light correction so the film bonds to a clean, sound surface.
  3. 3
    Template & cut
Panels are templated and cut to match the contours of your vessel — minimizing seams and maximizing coverage on each protected area.
  4. 4
    Wet install
Film is laid down with a controlled slip solution and squeegeed out in measured passes to remove every bubble and ensure full adhesion.
  5. 5
    Edge sealing
Edges are trimmed, tucked and sealed so salt water, exhaust and washdown chemistry can't lift the film over time.
  6. 6
    Cure & QC
Film cures dockside for 24–48 hours. We then walk every panel with you under the same lighting before signing the job off.

FAQs

Yacht Armor FAQs.

Everything owners and captains ask before approving a Yacht Armor install. If you don't see your question, call 786-630-5204.

What is Yacht Armor Marine Protection Film (MPF)?+

Yacht Armor is a premium marine-grade protection film engineered specifically for boats and yachts. Unlike a coating, it is a physical, self-healing film layer that bonds to gelcoat, paint, metal and other high-wear surfaces — providing impact, UV and chemical resistance well beyond what ceramic coatings alone can deliver.

How long does Yacht Armor MPF last?+

Yacht Armor MPF is engineered for multi-year service in harsh marine environments and is backed by a 3-year manufacturer guarantee when professionally installed and properly maintained. Real-world life often exceeds the warranty period on properly cared-for vessels.

What does the Yacht Armor guarantee cover?+

The Yacht Armor warranty covers defects in the film itself — yellowing, delamination and self-healing performance — for the published warranty period when the product is installed by a certified installer and the documented care instructions are followed.

How do I care for Yacht Armor after install?+

Care is intentionally simple: regular freshwater rinses and washes with a pH-neutral marine soap. Avoid harsh abrasives, scrub brushes or solvent-based cleaners on the film. We provide a written aftercare plan with every Yacht Armor install.

Can Yacht Armor be applied over minor defects, chips or scratches?+

Light surface defects can often be addressed during the prep stage before film installation. Deeper chips, exposed gelcoat or active corrosion need to be properly repaired first — film should always be installed over a sound, clean surface so the bond and finish perform as designed.

How easy is it to remove Yacht Armor?+

Yacht Armor is engineered to be removable by a trained installer without damaging the underlying gelcoat or paint when removed within its serviceable life. We handle removal and re-installation as part of long-term protection programs.
